Wilshere returns to Hatters with a plan
FORMER Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere is “hungry to achieve great things" after returning to his first club Luton as manager.
Wilshere is back at the Hatters after starting his career in their centre of excellence before joining Arsenal at the age of nine.
The 33-year-old, who won 34 caps, will be assisted by fellow former England international Chris Powell who has left League Two club Walsall.
The switch to Kenilworth Road to replace Matt Bloomfield (inset), who was sacked last week, marks Wilshere’s first permanent foray into management.
Following his playing retirement in 2022, he has undertaken coaching duties with former club Arsenal and Norwich - with Wilshere having taken temporary control at Carrow Road last term.
He was originally presented with an opportunity to return to the Emirates in the Under-21s manager's position.
