Father figure Howe has Barnes bouncing again

HARVEY BARNES received advice on fatherhood from Newcastle boss Eddie Howe and now he wants to make the Premier League look like child's play.

The winger endured an injury-hit debut season on Tyneside and only showed glimpses of what he is capable of following his £38m move from Leicester last summer.

Barnes suffered a serious foot injury in September last year as Newcastle beat Sheffield United 8-0, with medics giving conflicting advice on whether an operation was needed.

A period on the sidelines coupled with the upheaval of moving to the North East with his wife and baby daughter made it a difficult time for the 26-year-old.
