CELTIC closed the gap at the top of the William Hill Premiership with a hard-fought 2-1 win away to HIBERNIAN.

Leaders HEARTS had dropped more points after being held to a 0-0 draw against MOTHERWELL on Saturday, and the resurgent champions took full advantage to close within two - and still holding a game in hand.

First-half goals from Daizen Maeda and Arne Engels (above), scored within 33 seconds, set Celtic on their way at Easter Road.
