Maguire hopes to give fans consolation prize

HARRY MAGUIRE admits winning the Europa League wouldn’t save Manchester United’s season from being a failure.

But the England defender reckons winning a trophy would at least give long-suffering United fans something to smile about after months of despair.

United host Lyon in the second leg of their quarter-final tonight looking to keep their European dream and entire campaign - alive.

Should United go on to win the Europa League, it would also guarantee them a return to the Champions League.

And the magnitude of what's at stake is not lost on Maguire.
