PALLISTER BACKS MATHEUS TO BRING HEAT AT UNITED

- ALEX WOOD

MATHEUS CUNHA can still come good at Manchester United, says club legend Gary Pallister.

The Brazil international was a big-money buy for Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim, who went on a £200million spending spree in the summer as he looked to revive the club’s fortunes.

United agreed a £62.5m fee for Cunha’s services after his solid three-season stay at Wolves. But since making the switch from Molineux, he has struggled to hit top gear.

Pallister, though, who won four Premier League titles at United, insists Cunha has the right personality to be a long-term success at Old Trafford.

"I liked him at Wolves - I liked his character, he's volatile," said Pallister.
