Howe wants revenge: Sunderland defeats really HURT our season

NEWCASTLE boss Eddie Howe has fired up his troops for the final day of the league campaign with one task - finish above Sunderland.

Having lost to Regis Le Bris' Black Cats twice this season, and coming under major pressure from supporters as a consequence, Howe does not need to be reminded of the importance of local rivalry.

A victory over Fulham today, combined with a defeat or draw for the Wearsiders at home to Chelsea, would end Sunderland's European dream and also see them slip below Howe's team in the Premier League table.

Ahead of the final day trip to the capital, Howe said: "Those two defeats against Sunderland really hurt our season.
