Tumble dryers too costly

THE clothes horse is making a comeback as hard-up Brits pull the plug on tumble dryers.

Sales of indoor airing racks are up 50% in a year, says homeware firm Lakeland.

And Toolstation said folk are snapping up dehumidifiers to stop homes going mouldy while drying clothes inside.

The building supplies merchant has seen sales soar by 224% in 12 months.
