JIM GOODWIN is confident his hurting Dundee United boys will deliver the right response against Martin O'Neill's Bhoys.

- BY SCOTT BURNS

United have been left to rue last weekend's derby defeat to Dundee.

It ended the Tannadice side's five-match unbeaten run, leaving them looking to get back motoring on the road in O'Neill's latest Celtic return come Saturday.

Boss Goodwin said: "The boys were disappointed, everybody was.

"That's always a sore one to lose and there's ill feeling after the game, which is understandable.

"We didn't perform well enough in the first half and lost too many of those individual battles.

"The second half was a lot better. Dundee had something to hold on to and defended their box really well.

"On another day, we might have nicked a goal. We could've taken a point.
