KIERAN TRIPPIER has shut down any dressing room moaning about Newcastle United's hectic schedule this season.

After fighting on four fronts, the Magpies' workload has been relentless, with 48 competitive matches so far.

Their to-do list got a bit shorter after bowing out of the FA Cup, but stand-in captain Trippier, deputising for injured Bruno Guimaraes, has ordered his teammates to make amends by putting on a Champions League show against Barcelona tomorrow night.

After taking a well-deserved lead through Harvey Barnes, Newcastle could not stop the City onslaught as Omar Marmoush helped himself to two second-half goals after Savinho had prodded home an equaliser.

Trippier said: “There should be no excuses about the games or schedule.

“This is where you want to be as a footballer, going into games against Barca and winning these types of occasions.
