Cornelius: Every Gers player needs to accept individual responsibility for what's going wrong

IT'S one of sport's oldest clichés - “we win together, we lose together”.

But for Derek Cornelius, it doesn't quite fit.

‘A far as the Rangers defender is concerned, collective responsibility starts at home.

The Canadian international is not about to start pointing fingers in public in some futile attempt to explain away the calamitous mistakes that once more sent Russell Martin's team careering towards defeat in Graz on Thursday night.

But he certainly hopes that each and every one of the men that sit around him in the Ibrox dressing room are this morning taking a long, hard look in the mirror and asking themselves if they really are doing all they can to drag Rangers out of the hole the club now finds itself wedged in.

Perhaps once the lumbering Light Blues are honest enough as individuals to answer that question then Cornelius hopes they will be able to find the team spirit required to turn their flimsy form around.

He said: “Yeah, it comes down to each individual, right? We all control what we do on the pitch so all have to look at ourselves in the mirror and take responsibility for what's not going right.

“We can't look and point fingers now. Each individual has to be better themselves and yeah, ultimately that’s going to help us.

“Is that happening? I can't answer that for you. We have a big group of almost 30 players, but if were not doing that then were going to continue having the same struggles.
