Husband who witnessed thugs via call says he's ‘ashamed to be Scottish'

A DAD who watched in horror on FaceTime as his wife was racially attacked says the thugs have made him feel "ashamed to be Scottish".

Pete Moffat, 55, viewed the sickening incident during a call to his wife Evelyn Leitizia as masked thugs abused her outside Queen Street station in Glasgow.

Evelyn, who is from Bali in Indonesia, was enjoying a day out with female relatives when the hate-filled gang struck.

The menacing group circled Evelyn, 41, as they mimicked stabbing motions and branded her a "ch***y", leaving the women in distress.

Pete, from Yoker, Glasgow, told the Record: "Watching what happened to my wife has left me utterly heartbroken.

"Scenes like this make me ashamed to be Scottish and break my heart."

A clip of the September 12 attack also shows the Buckfast-wielding youths mocking Evelyn and her family.

One youth mentions a machete and in another chilling slur, someone else shouts, "I'll put you in a body bag."
