The American teenage prodigy, now 23, took eight months away from tennis in 2023 for mental-health reasons after admitting she was suffering from burnout. She then revived her childhood passion for art - and for Vincent Van Gogh especially - and sold her work to raise money for charities. Now, after returning to the sport ranked world No.373 last year, Anisimova will bid to brush off favourite Iga Swiatek (circled) and claim a first Grand Slam title. And then paint the town red.
