Oscar knows his role in the Well set-up

OSCAR PRIESTMAN insists he didn't need to be reminded of his lines after stepping in to act as Elliot Watt's Motherwell understudy.

A muscle issue meant Watt missed Saturday's Easter Road draw with Hibs, with Priestman handed the Fir Park star's starting slot instead.

But the young Aussie more than handled the occasion as he lived up to the Steelmen midfielder's impressive performance levels in Leith.

Watt is already being tipped for bigger things after a stunning season under Jens Berthel Askou.

But Priestman says he was given no special instructions on how to fill in for Watt from his trusting boss.

The former Western Sydney Wanderer said: "Elliot's a top player.

Everyone knows his qualities. But we also have good depth and I was just grateful I had the chance to take his place on Saturday.

"The gaffer didn't speak to me. I know my role.
