Fans are mad for the merch as punters spend a fortune on hats, T-shirts and pints as they party like Rock 'n' Roll Stars ahead of Edinburgh show for the ages

- BY JOHN DINGWALL

OASIS fans turned Edinburgh into a Champagne Supernova yesterday as they travelled from all around the world to see the band blow the roof off the first of three sold-out Scots shows.

The reunited rock band played north of the Border or the first time in 16 years as their Oasis Live '25 reunion finally reached Murrayfield.

But even before Noel and Liam Gallagher stepped on stage, the atmosphere was electric in the streets around the home of Scottish Rugby.

Ahead of the show in the capital, fans had gathered outside the stadium early having travelled from far and wide.

To the sound of Oasis tunes on the bagpipes and shouts of "Get your bucket hats here", fans hit the merchandise stalls to spend a small fortune on limited edition shirts, hats and tambourines.

More than 200,000 people are in the city for the biggest gigs of the decade last night, tonight and Tuesday.

Among them was Inverness shop worker Hannah Stewart, 18.

She said: "I'm buzzing. My dad brought me up on them so I've been so excited to see them.

"I went through war to get these tickets so it's just amazing to be here. It's so special with them saying they would never get back together and doing this.

"The fact that it is happening, and there are three nights, shows how much people want to see them. All the fans love it."

Pharmacy worker Kayleigh Downs, 20, and her sister, steam train worker Ruby, 17, also travelled from their home in Inverness to catch Oasis live for the first time.
