Book by Queen icon's ex collects his notebooks and doodlings in the 'definitive creative record'
FREDDIE Mercury's ex-fiancee is bringing out a book revealing the Queen star's creative genius, 80 years after he was born.
When the rock singer died, aged 45 in 1991, he left his best friend, Mary Austin, his house, possessions and an archive of his material spanning almost two decades.
From his early works before Queen, up to the end of his solo career, his notebooks and dood-lings contain previously unpublished material.
They include alternate lyrics and abandoned verses for Bohemian Rhapsody and different drafts of Don't Stop Me Now, as well as entire songs that were never recorded.
