JACK IREDALE loved playing in front of 500 fans at a soulless Hampden in his first season in senior football.

JACK IS KEEN TO FINALLY HEAR HAMPDEN ROAR

But the Hibs defender is now desperate to experience a sellout National Stadium - with the Leith side just one step away as they go into today's Premier Sports Cup quarterfinal against Rangers.

Iredale was loaned to Queens Park after making the switch from Australia to join Morton in 2017, and relished having Hampden as his temporary home.

The fact there was literally no one there for games did not bother him as he took his first steps in professional football.

But the prospect of running out in front of thousands of Hibs fans in Mount Florida excites him.

He said: “I played at Hampden a number of times when I was on loan at Queen's Park but that was in front of about 500 people rather than the full house.
