- NORMAN SILVESTER

PRISONERS across Scotland have taken part in a controversial "Tripadvisor" style survey of their experiences locked up in a police cell, the Daily Record can reveal.

According to figures released by Police Scotland under Freedom of Information (FOI), 66 have responded since the scheme was officially launched in November last year.

In the last 10 months, all POL prisoners held in Police Scotland cells have been sent a "custody user experience survey" via text message after release. They can also fill out a separate online survey.

The FOI response from Police Scotland provides a link to the survey which reveals the questions asked of those arrested and then locked up In what has been compared to a Tripadvisor review, prisoners are questioned about the food, drink and washing facilities and to rate them on a scale from very satisfied to very dissatisfied.
