HUNDREDS of thousands of people have been urged to flee Kyiv, with Russian attacks freezing half the capital's homes and the city hurtling towards a humanitarian disaster.

As brutal fighting rages on, Ukraine has declared it aims to kill 50,000 Russians a month in its bid to drive Moscow's troops back from the frontline.

Russia is carrying out strikes on Kyiv's crucial infrastructure in an effort to freeze Ukrainians battling -16C temperatures into submission.

Half of the city's three million people and 5600 apartment buildings have no heating, and more than 600,000 desperate residents have already fled.
