George home thanks to microchip

AN OVERJOYED family have been reunited with their cat - nine years after he vanished.
The 14-year-old tabby called George was back the arms of his owner Frances after he went missing in 2016.
Wandering George turned up at the SSPCA Glasgow Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre last week - just seven miles from where he disappeared.
When staff carried out a microchip check they were stunned to find he had been on the run for nearly a decade.
