8 years for dating site predator who fled to Spain
A DATING site rapist who faked his own death then fled the country has been jailed for eight years.
James Clacher, 57, was convicted of attacking two women in their homes following a trial last month and was sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday.
The former gym boss in Airdrie committed the crimes in 2019 and 2020.
He went missing in May 2022 while facing charges. His Suzuki Swift was found dumped at a car park in Loch Long in Argyll.
