Fans will long remember their trip despite agonising defeat
GUTTED Gers fans in Seville were left heartbroken by the agonising penalty shoot-out Europa League final defeat but insisted they wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Supporters from around the world spent thousands making their way to Spain for the once in a generation game, with many hoping to see history being made.
And although they did not get the result they all craved, they praised all the players for almost making their dreams come true.
Season ticket holders James Dick, 55, and son Ali, 23, got two of the 9500 match tickets issued to the club by Uefa for the match.
They shouted themselves hoarse but were left distraught when Aaron Ramsey's missed spot-kick saw them lose at the end of a remarkable night.
James said: "Spending the entire trip to Seville with Ali has been great.
"We've seen some incredible cities and some fantastic sights and a great game tonight in a special stadium.
"We'd have obviously loved the result to be different but couldn't be more proud of the team for all their achievements."
