Tuchel badly needs England to turn on style against the minnows to silence snipers
-
THOMAS TUCHEL needed to hit the ground running as England boss to win over those who threw cans of Carling at the telly when GB News revealed a German would be taking the reins at Wembley.
So the former Chelsea boss must be grateful the Brexit brigade down south are now too busy painting roundabouts and hounding asylum seekers to kick up too much of a fuss about the mess he has made of the job so far.
Inheriting a talented squad of players and making them even less entertaining than Gareth Southgate looked like an impossible task but somehow Tuchel has managed to pull it off.
He was hired to deliver the World Cup in North America next summer but on the evidence of the last two games you wouldn't bet any money on the Three Lions ending 40 years of hurt.
A dismal 1-0 win away from home against Andorra in World Cup qualifying was followed by a 3-1 friendly loss at home to Senegal, with Tuchel's side looking hopelessly devoid of a creative spark.
