Firearms officer suspended after snap

- BY NICHOLAS MALIZIA

A FIREARMS officer is suing Police Scotland, alleging he was suspended for leaving his patrol car to be photographed with Tallia Storm.

Steven Jones, 35, accused the force of sex discrimination.

At an employment tribunal in Edinburgh, he said his actions were unfairly labelled "misogynistic" due to senior officers' concerns about the armed response unit being seen as having a "boys' club mentality".

The incident happened in Edinburgh in March 2024, when a video posted by Scots singer Tallia showed Steven and a colleague step out of their marked police car to take a photo with her.
