Brave family returns to war zone

A HERO dad and son, whose emotional goodbye became one of the great iconic images of the Ukraine war, have finally been reunited.

When Ruslan Gladkiy was photographed kissing Hordiy as he said farewell at Lviv train station, he feared he would never see his son again.

Ruslan told him: "Be brave for your mother" and nine-year-old Hordiy certainly was. Now Ruslan can finally hug Hordiy again after the family decided they should return to war-torn Ukraine.
