Barney trouble as Stef strolls it

RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD was knocked out of the World Championship with a whimper as the impressive Stefan Bellmont cruised into the second round with a 3-0 drubbing.

Five-time world champion Van Barneveld claimed the first leg but Bellmont then reeled off eight straight legs before sealing the first-ever victory by a Swiss player in the competition.

It hasn't been a vintage year for ‘Barney’, 58, who was appearing in his 33rd World Championship, equalling Steve ‘The Adonis’ Beaton's impressive record.
