Women in pool tragedy 'touched lives of many'

TWO women who died on Yr Wyddfa had “touched the lives of many”, a university has said.

Hajra Zahid, 29, and Haleema Zahid, 25, were recovered from waterfall pools on Wales' highest mountain.

Tributes have been paid to the pair, who were found at the pools near the Watkin Path last Wednesday evening, June 11.

The senior coroner for north-west Wales, Kare Robertson, is today due to open an inquest into their deaths in Caernarfon.

The two woman were studying international business at the University of Chester.

They had begun master’s degrees at the campus earlier this year.
