Walkers in trainers rescued in gale force winds on mountain

TEAMS CALLED OUT AS WEATHER WARNING SET IN
WALKERS - some wearing just trainers ~ had to be rescued off Yr Wyddfa as a yellow weather warning was set to kick in.
The Met Office had been warning of high winds for days ahead of when the warning officially came into place at 8pm on Sunday.
On Sunday afternoon winds were already gusting close to 60mph on the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia).
But this didn't stop walkers hitting Wales's highest peak and getting themselves in trouble.
One group were on the narrow Crib-y-Ddysgl ridge between Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and Carnedd Ugain. A pair of walkers were also rescued from the Snowdon Ranger Path. Atleast one walker was seen wearing trainers.
Llanberis and Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Teams were forced to come the aid of each group.
