Travel troubles as more snow on way

Today’s big return to work could be impacted as thousands take to the roads once again after the festive break.

Heavy snowfall made driving conditions treacherous in Gwynedd and on Anglesey yesterday morning.

There were further issues on other roads in Gwynedd and Conwy - including the A470 and A5.

The A470 was shut between Talycafn and Glan Conwy due to the road conditions after heavy snowfall.

The A5 was closed at Bethesda due to a crash.

Police urged people not to travel if they could possibly avoid it.

Chief Inspector Emma Parry, from North Wales Police, said: “We'd ask everyone to please consider the weather conditions before venturing out, and stay away from mountainous or higher areas particularly affected.
