The changes being made at island's beach that's both a 'blessing and curse'

Llanddwyn Island

The golden sands of Llanddwyn beach and its dramatic backdrop are a magnet for visitors.

While Newborough Forest is also a magical location that pulls in the crowds.

Having these on your doorstep is a blessing in many ways for villagers but the downside is the crowds that flock here, particularly in the summer months.

It has led to traffic gridlock in the village - impacting the quality of life of those who live there. In addition the sheer number of visitors - particularly those who don’t respect the sites - is causing damage to these unique habitats.

There are changes coming that it is hoped will help to mitigate some of the traffic problems although no one is under any illusion that they will solve everything.
