Swim ban as oil spill on scenic North Wales beach sparks emergency response

A BEACH in North Wales has been hit by an oil spill. The pollution incident is on The Promenade beach at Criccieth, Gwynedd, with people urged to stay out the water.

Officers from Natural Resources Wales (NRW) and Cyngor Gwynedd are at the scene. There are no details as yet as to what has caused the spill, which is also affecting the Afon Cwrt.

Dog walkers have been advised to keep animals on a lead and the public told to obey all warning notices.
