LIVERPOOL are heading for a difficult run of fixtures with clashes against Manchester City and Real Madrid looming for the beleaguered giants.

- By FASIKA ZELEALEM

The current Premier League champions have shockingly slipped to seventh place after enduring four consecutive losses.

After a flawless start to the season with five league wins in as many games, things took a turn for the worse for Arne Slot's side, who've experienced the club's worst league streak in 11 years.

Losses to Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Manchester United and Brentford have put the spotlight on the Dutchman, who has so far struggled to find the right balance in his team after a summer where he splashed out £450million on new signings.

Players like Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz have yet to prove why they cost the Reds over £225m, while Mohamed Salah has had his poorest start to a league season since joining Liverpool.

Our sister paper The Echo has delved into the latest news from Anfield where Slot's approach to Arsenal has been criticised and Liverpool's post-match reaction to the Brentford loss has been unveiled.

Arne Slot under fire It's been a challenging second season for Slot who has faced unprecedented pressure during Liverpool's dreadful run of four straight league defeats. Just a few weeks ago, his team held a five-point lead over Arsenal at the top of the Premier League - a lead that was quickly obliterated.
