ROAD CLOSED FOR REPAIRS TO WAVE-BATTERED SEA WALL

A Canute-style bid to fix an Anglesey wall shattered by towering waves has been temporarily thwarted by the power of the sea.

Council contractors worked heroically on Thursday in “brutal” conditions in a desperate attempt to patch up Benllech’s crumbling seawall.
But with high tides continuing, Anglesey Council said debris-littered Beach Road is now likely to remain closed until early this week.
