Police issue 'robust' warning to asylum centre protesters

A PROTEST is planned today over proposals to house asylum seekers in Mold town centre.
There had been rumours up to 100 could be housed at a new asylum seeker dispersal facility in the Ambrose Centre.
But according to Clwyd East Labour MP Becky Gittins, the Mold facility will specifically be for families, not individuals, with up to 35 people spread across nine flats, being housed there.
The facility has divided opinion in the market town, with concerns over the plans. According to social media posts, there may also be a counter-protest.
North Wales Police said they were aware of a ‘peaceful protest’ and respected people's rights to stage one. But they warned action would be taken if the law was broken.
