PEP GUARDIOLA admits Manchester City’s last campaign would have got him the sack if he was manager of Barcelona or Real Madrid.

City finished third in the Premier League, 13 points behind Liverpool. Guardiola’s side were knocked out of the League Cup by Tottenham, beaten in the FA Cup final by Crystal Palace and dominated by Real Madrid in the Champions League play-off stage.
But instead of dismissing Guardiola, City backed the Catalan, extending his contract at the Etihad until 2027.
City have the opportunity this summer to bounce back as they compete in the financially lucrative Club World Cup, which begins on Sunday.
