N.WALES FAMILY 'JUST WENT INTO PANIC MODE'

- By STEVE BAGNALL

A MUM from North Wales, living a “dream life” in Dubai with her family, has described the harrowing moment they watched a missile being intercepted above their home, as conflict erupted across the region.

Poppy Owen, a 34-year-old freelance creative marketing director, originally from Bangor, was returning to her home on Saturday evening when the reality of the escalation became visible in the night sky.

It came as Donald Trump warned Iran against further retaliation for the joint US-Israeli strikes on the country which killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, telling the country the US would counter “with a force that has never been seen before”.

Saturday's attack prompted retaliation from Iran, with strikes reported in several Gulf countries including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

Mrs Owen said: “On Saturday around 6:15pm I travelled from the Dubai Marina back to where I live in Damac Hills to (the desert) and it’s right next to the airbase.

“I arrived at 7pm and as I was pulling into our drive I saw a missile being intercepted above our home. Families were gathering outside to look at the sky.
