New A494 Dee bridge could be built by end of decade

A NEW road crossing on the River Dee could be completed before the end of the decade, the Welsh Government has said.

The £174m scheme will renew a key route in and out of North Wales.

Plans to build a replacement A494 River Dee Bridge have reached their next milestone with publication of the scheme’s draft Orders. These are legal documents that detail the proposal, including the route the bridge will take, changes to existing roads and the land that will need to be purchased.

The public can give their views on the Orders they can formally support or object to the plans. They can even suggest alternatives to a scheme first conceived back in 2018.
