Llandudno leads surge in coastal property appeal

With a population of about 19,700 people, the town remains one of North Wales' most visited seaside destinations, offering Victorian architecture, a long promenade, and easy access from the North West of England.

This enduring appeal comes as more buyers look to seaside towns while travellers continue to choose UK-based breaks over trips abroad, according to Schofields Insurance.

Data from the Office for National Statistics reveals that between July 2024 and June 2025, UK short-term lets saw 93.8 million guest nights, marking a 10.2% increase on the previous year, the holiday home insurance specialist said.

These figures indicate that holidaymakers are still firmly favouring holiday homes for their getaways, ensuring demand for coastal stays remains elevated. Official census data further underlines the scale of this sector, showing approximately 70,000 holiday homes across England and Wales.

While Llandudno captures the spotlight in North Wales, property values in other prime seaside areas reflect the high premium buyers are willing to pay for coastal living.
