Josh out for Joy as Cork track takes centre stage

JOSH'S Joy appears to have been found a good opportunity to open her account at the third time of asking as Cork stages the sole meeting scheduled to take place in Britain and Ireland today.

Josh out for Joy as Cork track takes centre stage

With racing in Britain cancelled in protest at proposed betting tax changes, the Irish venue has the stage to itself as far as action on the track is concerned and there are a couple of interesting maidens to enjoy.

Josh's Joy finished a promising third on her Leopardstown debut in July and bettered that effort when beaten a head into second place on her second start at the same track last month, with the Ger Lyons-trained winner Smexy having previously finished third in a Group Three.

On the strength of that form, it will be a little disappointing if Donnacha O'Brien's filly does not go one better in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.

Hellorhighwater can also make it third time lucky for Gavin Cromwell in the William Hill Gold Weekend Starts 8am Friday Maiden.
