Jail for man who tried to smuggle £20k of drugs into prison inside Mars Bar wrapper

A PRISON visitor tried to smuggle almost £20,000 worth of drugs hidden in a Mars bar wrapper into the jail.

But a sniffer dog helped catch the visitor and prisoner in the act.

A judge at Mold Crown Court yesterday jailed Christopher Beck, 35, of Trelawney Avenue, Flint, and Graham Duncan, 56, of Avondale, Flint, for 21 months each after they admitted four counts of conveying a prohibited item into a prison.

Beck had been visiting his friend and inmate Duncan at HMP Berwyn in Wrexham on July 22, 2023.
