Interim boss is set to be named in next few days

DARREN FLETCHER will report to Carrington this morning as Manchester United aim to confirm an interim head coach appointment within the next couple of days.

Fletcher is set to speak to chief executive Omar Berrada and director of football Jason Wilcox today as the club look to finalise an appointment for the remainder of the season.

Berrada and Wilcox have spoken to frontrunners Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Michael Carrick recently, while Fletcher has taken charge of the games against Burnley and Brighton.

The 41-year-old is in contention to land the job for the rest of the season but his case has been damaged by a failure to land a win in his two games in charge.

Fletcher was placed in caretaker charge after the sacking of Ruben Amorim last Monday.
