The resort's 1930s Colonnade has undergone months of restoration work after suffering significant decay.

The concrete art deco structure is a 170-metre covered walkway that leads to Happy Valley on the Great Orme headland.

Long-term plans could include making it a hive for evening markets and street performers.

Opened in 1932 by Mostyn Estates, the walkway was grade II-listed by heritage body Cadw as an “unusual seaside structure”.

An extension was added in 2000 but in recent years it’s been poorly maintained, becoming a victim of its seafront location.

A heritage report described the site as “the most severe and harshest environment for reinforced concrete structures”.
