Mystery as giant cross suddenly appears on peak ... but some have their own ideas

A LARGE wooden cross suddenly erected on a Eryri peak has sparked a debate about who put it there.

The cross appeared earlier this month on the top of Moel Eilio, in the Carneddau (not to be confused with the peak of the same name above Llanberis).

There doesn’t seem to have been any announcement or consultation over the cross being erected and most aren't sure who put it there.

A walker posted on the Dolgarrog Community Noticeboard page on Facebook asking what it was - sharing pictures of the structure from a distance away.
