Dalot urges Red Devils to use 'anger and drive' to power them up the table

Diogo Dalot has urged the Manchester United dressing room to use “anger and drive” to spur them on.

- By STEVEN RAILSTON

Dalot was visibly disappointed when he spoke after dropping points against West Ham and admitted his teammates need to become “more obsessed” about winning.

Dalot opened the scoring in the 58th minute against West Ham and United were on course to claim a victory, but the away side salvaged a point by scoring from a corner in the closing stages.

United squandered the opportunity to climb up to fifth in the Premier League table. Amorim was spiky during his post-match press conference, explaining he felt “angry and frustrated”

Dalot appeared frustrated when he spoke to journalists in the mixed zone.

“We are very disappointed. We cannot concede a goal, we have to control more the game. We should have done the same as we did for 60 minutes, and try to score the second. We had the game there,” he said.

Speaking about what was said amongst players, Dalot added: “Just that feeling - we cannot drop the intentions that we had to score a goal, to go out for the second one, to control even more with the ball.

“And when we lose the ball, be in a good position so we don’t suffer counter attacks. Because we knew that, for West Ham, the only way of creating danger was going to be second balls, transitions or set plays.”
