A Wales Air Ambulance helicopter on its way to yesterday's incident

A PERSON was flown to hospital after an incident led to the closure of the A55 in both directions.

Emergency services were called to a "concern for safety" incident at around 12pm yesterday.

Police, paramedics and an air ambulance were called to the scene of the emergency near Junction 25 at Bodelwyddan. It resulted in the road being shut in both directions between Abergele and St Asaph.

Following the incident, an air ambulance was tracked flying directly to the Royal Stoke University Hospital, which is home to a specialist major trauma unit.
