North Wales victim loses £2.1m in ‘staggering’ crypto fraud
POLICE have launched a probe after a North Wales victim was conned out of £2.1m, in a “staggering” Bitcoin fraud.
They were scammed into handing over a password by a cyber thief, posing as a senior law enforcement officer.
Moments later they lost assets worth millions. North Wales Police are now investigating in a bid to catch the culprits and recover the funds, as they sounded a caution to anyone who owns cryptocurrency.
