Victim slid around '20 or 30ft' down the road after the collision

- By DAVID POWELL

A DANGEROUS driver with a “grudge” deliberately drove towards a motorcyclist who was left badly injured after the vehicles collided. The rider came off his bike and slid “20 or 30 feet” along the road before being taken to hospital.

Driver Rob Rawlinson had wanted to find out if victim Liam Shacklady had ended a relationship with Rawlinson’s ex-partner, a court heard.

Mold Crown Court heard Rawlinson drove his Vauxhall Corsa towards Mr Shacklady’s motorbike by The Park pub on Abergele Road, Colwyn Bay. The victim was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan then a regional trauma centre in Stoke.

Rawlinson, 33, of Dundonald Road, Colwyn Bay, admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving and was given a 22-month jail term suspended for two years.

Prosecutor Jade Tufail said victim Liam Shacklady was riding his orange KTM motorcycle past The Park pub on November 26, 2022. He saw Rawlinson’s silver Corsa at the side of the road.
