Attic Stores and Eatery
Daily Post
|December 06, 2025
WE made a visit to the much-loved Clare's department store in Llandudno, to try the new Attic Stores and Eatery, located on the top floor of this stylish art deco building.
The cafe, which closed during Covid, reopened in September of this year. The cafe space has been beautifully designed to reflect the glamour of the twenties; the same decade, Clare's department store first opened.
We were warmly greeted as we stepped inside the stores doors and made our way to the old-fashioned cage lift. These historical passenger lifts were typically found in late 19th and early 20th-century buildings like hotels and classic department stores and are known for their elaborate birdcage design.
The open design allowed us to see the surroundings while travelling between floors.
The cafe proudly celebrates local ingredients and has a lot of local produce on display in its stores, such as Bryn’s kitchen, Calon lan and Dylans Sauces. The art decor design of the cafe has a certain 1920s elegance with pastel wallpaper and small stylish white tables with pink cushioned chairs.
We couldn’t help but look at the tempting display of homemade cakes and bakes, from an old school treacle tart to a huge slice of Bakewell tart, as we stepped up to order.
