Arctic air raise risk of snow for N.Wales

SEVERAL days of snow have been forecast for North Wales as the New Year starts.

According to the latest charts from major weather forecasters, snow is predicted to fall every day for parts of the region, between New Year's Day and January 5, as temperatures plunge.

Although snow is difficult to predict, even a few days in advance, due to the amount of variables involved, the winter conditions are there which could see falls, in the coming days, which are now being forecast by the Met Office, BBC weather and WXCharts.

The weather forecasters do have differences in predictions for the amount of snow which could fall across the region and the specific locations.

However what they agree on is - given current weather conditions and temperatures dropping to seasonal winter levels - there is a high chance the first five days of 2026 could see snow in some of the region.

Whether the snowwill stick around is another question, with wintry rain showers and hail, also predicted, interspersed between the snow falls.
