City's suspension of tennis advertising board ruling denied
Daily News
|February 19, 2026
THE Pietermaritzburg High Court recently denied the eThekwini Municipality’s request to suspend a previous court ruling on a case between the municipality, the eThekwini Tennis Association, and its commercial partner, Evolv Outdoor.
The case stemmed from the tennis association's attempt to install advertising boards on municipal property, a measure intended to help save the financially troubled Westridge Tennis Stadium. The city rejected the proposal.
In October, Judge Rishinand Seegobin said the municipality had acted improperly and ordered them to permit the erection of the boards.
