Will Trump flattery get us anywhere?
Daily Mirror UK

THE Royals certainly know how to put on a show and they treated Trump and Melania as incredibly special guests.
-
■ The state banquet was magnificent, with everyone on their best behaviour.
I understand the purpose was to butter them up before Trump met with Starmer to discuss business, but I still think it was over the top.
Trump already believes he is something special and all the attention he has had from King Charles and the rest of the royals was excessive and will only serve to inflate his ego even more.
The president was in his element. He looked like the cat that got the cream. But what did we get out of all of it? I don't think we were the winners at all.
Paul Davies, Harrogate, North Yorks
■ Many people came out to protest against Trump's visit and I don't blame them. The president was shielded from the protests but I am sure he knew about them.
Still, Trump was enjoying every moment of the fuss. He loves the pomp and ceremony and rich history of the Royal Family. And it was all to help Keir Starmer when it came to their meeting.
